Merit 1. Well-built appearance, amiable texture. Inheriting the strength of Kaohsiung 139, Kaohsiung 145 has the same amiable texture as well as the pearly look of full round shape. Anyone can easily tell it from other ordinary rice. For the special texture after cooling-off, it’s an ideal fodder for Shushi, stewed rice, congee and the boxed meal.

Merit 2. Longer preservation Kaohsiung 145 has longer preservative period than other rice. It can be preserved in room temperature for up to 4 months and low temperature for up to 5 months with stable quality. It also has better credit than TaiGan No.9 .

Merit 3. Lesser fertilizer Kaohsiung 145 is ideal to be planted in first season, it’s not adapted to the cold weather. Only when seeding in time can harvest the full-grown Kaohsiung 145. It suits perfectly the annual cultivation scheme in YiLan area.

Fresh rice has higher moisture than the preserved one. It’s about 1:1 ratio to stew the rice with water. If you have the fresh rice during the harvesting season in between August and September, then 1: 0.8 might be an ideal ratio to cook rice with water.Preservation in the freezer is suggested for almost 2-month freshness.
